# Meeting agenda builder

List what the meeting needs to cover, who leads each part and how long it gets. The clock times work themselves out, and the finished agenda is ready to print, paste into an invite or drop into your notes as Markdown.

## Building the agenda

Give the meeting a title, date and start time, then add the items in the order you will take them. For each item, say who leads it and how many minutes it gets; the start time of every item, the total length and the finish time update as you type. Use the arrows to reorder and the label to mark an item as an update, a discussion, a decision or a break. A template gives you a sensible starting point for a team check-in, a project kickoff, a retrospective, a committee meeting or a one-to-one.

## Agendas that keep meetings on time

- **Write items as questions or outcomes.** "Decide the venue" says more than "Venue".
- **Put decisions early,** while people are fresh, and updates that could be an email at the end, or in the email.
- **Leave slack.** Planning 50 minutes of a one-hour slot leaves room for late starts and good tangents.
- **Send it in advance,** so people arrive prepared. Copy as text pastes neatly into a calendar invite; Markdown suits notes apps and wikis.

## Questions

**Can I change the order of items?**

Yes, with the up and down arrows on each item. The clock times recalculate straight away.

**Does it save my agenda?**

Your current agenda is kept in this browser's local storage, so it is still there if you close the tab. Nothing is uploaded.

**What does the Markdown version look like?**

A heading with the title, a short list with the date, place and host, and a table of times, items, leads and minutes, which renders well in most notes apps, wikis and chat tools.
